The Bolívar brand was launched in 1902 and is now manufactured in the Partagás factory in the heart of Havana.

ABOUT BOLIVAR CIGARS HISTORY:
The brand was created circa 1900 by Jose Fernandez Rocha. Named after Simon Bolivar, one of the great historic figures who liberated much of South America from Spanish rule.
The brand was officially registered in by J.F. Rocha y Cia.
The company appeared in the registry of Exporting Manufactures located at 364 San Miguel Street in Havana.
After the death of the brand’s founder, J.F. Rocha, the Bolivar brand, along with the La Gloria Cubana brand, were sold to the Cifuentes family, and production was moved to the famed Partagas factory in Havana.
The Gold Medal remains one of the most famous Bolivar cigars by collectors. The distinctive cigar was half wrapped in gold coloured aluminum foil. It has been discontinued.
The most popular Bolivar cigars include the Belicosos Fino, Royal Coronas and the Libertadores.
The Bolivar Royal Coronas was previously called “Prince Charles” until 1973. In 2013, it was rated, Cigar Aficionado’s cigar of the year.
Bolivar releases the Limited Edition Soberanos cigar.
Bolivar today is regarded as one of the strongest and most full bodied of all the Habanos cigars.
